I'm Starting Fi7ness by Jess Wright...

The Atkins diet was successful until I realised I am not the sort of girl who can live on hardly any carbs or sugar. Baring that in mind I've been eating a little healthier, but as this involved more than just cheese and meat, all my weight has returned with a vengeance. FAIL!

Time to be little more strict on my food choices, salads galore! I'm also drowning myself in water because water is life. Now that my actual diet is varied and healthy it's time to consider an exercise regime. I have done the gym on a few occasions but only made real progress with a personal trainer and it's costly! I came across a 7 week fitness program that Jess Wright is the face of, and she is looking HOT! I've come to realise even if I loose the weight I want to, I still will need to tone so why not work out as I enjoy my new healthier lifestyle. The reviews are great, I'm a big fan of anything I can do at home because it saves so much time plus I can sweat and pull all the faces I want without worrying what I look like.... [yes I'm one of those girls who wears make up to the gym and stands under the air con to try and stay dry!].

So this is the program kit I purchased, its 50% off right now which is even better £30 inc P&P! This includes workout DVDs which you can also view on your phone, resistance bands, exercise ball, nutrition plan and a 7 week wall planner. Pretty much everything you need to make a pretty significant change. The work outs are half an hour long and you do 5 per week, they're a combination of HIIT, cardio and resistance training and advises this is perfect for a full body work out. I'm actually really excited to try this especially after seeing some other girls results.

Wish me luck!

The Colonic Review!

So it's been over 24 hours now since I had my colonic hydrotherapy treatment, time for the review!

Firstly let me clarify even though I've been wanting one of these for a few years I felt really nervous about the whole thing it seems like such an intimate process to go through with some one who you have only just met. One I was greeted by the lady who was doing the treatment for me I felt a whole lot better about things, she was very professional and knew a lot about this stuff. Suddenly I actually felt a little out of place because the whole way through all I wanted to do was make a jokes [my usual way of handling awkward situations].
She explained all of the health benefits and asked what I wanted to achieve from the treatment which was just to feel healthier and more cleansed in general. She proceeded to ask me to undress whilst she left the room and hide my dignity under a towel, which could've been a bit bigger! She also explained how the machine worked although at this point I think she was just making small talk to detract from the fact this is a very strange position to be in for two strangers.

The actual process was not how I expected at all! At first it was really uncomfortable in fact it was the sort of pain which made me feel sick like a cramping feeling, and nothing was coming out. I was genuinely worried I would go home full of water and regretting my life, however after 10 minutes things started flowing. The actual process of water being pumped in and out is 30 minutes long. She was massaging my stomach very vigorously throughout which made me feel even more awkward. The gross bit - yes I saw a lot come out of me but did I feel better for it?

NO.
I feel exactly the same. I expected to feel relieved or empty. Maybe even just more awake or energetic, but no. I had read through reviews before and it seems a lot of people say the same which makes me wonder if this is a bit of a pointless exercise? Humans have managed to lead healthy lives all these years without having water shooting up their bum and I can see why. Maybe for some one suffering with IBS or another illness which affects their digestive system this would work wonders. However for some one who [I'd imagine] has a relatively healthy colon, this seems a little pointless.

I don't regret my trip to the colonic clinic at all, it' an experience to say the least. However whilst I have a happy and healthy colon I think I shall be avoiding this!

I'm Getting A Colonic! + Atkins Diet Update

AND I CAN'T WAIT! In my last blog post I said this was on my list of things to get done in 2018, it's happening tomorrow and I'm actually nervous. I'm going to review just how it helped my body [if it does of course] and the experience overall because 9/10 people I know wouldn't dream of having one done when they're meant to be quite beneficial.

Firstly, lets get into that diet update...

Sadly carbs found me this weekend meaning my week long diet was probably ruined! On the 8th day, I felt sick and dizzy probably because I wasn't eating a big variety of foods on the diet, but it is low sugar and low carb so your body can struggle. I'm very tempted to stick to a healthy low calorie diet after my cleanse tomorrow, as this has worked wonders for me in the past. The Atkins Diet did really lower my appetite so that may help me eat less in general. One other thing the diet was SO expensive, PAINFULLY expensive especially if your making separate meals for you and your partner. SORRY ATKINS, I'M OUT!

A little bit more on the colon cleanse then...

Right now I don't have too much information other than your initial consultation and treatment in £70 and any additional treatments cost £55. It takes roughly an hour, I haven't been given much information from the clinic I'll be going to, so here's a diagram to help your imagination.

I'm feeling very hopeful that this will kick start my body into a new healthy one. Only 2 weeks until my next birthday and I need all the goodness I can get.

Update blog post will be following my appointment tomorrow!

Procedures & Treatments I Would Love To Get In 2018

Procedures & Treatments I Would Love To Get In 2018!

Sadly 2017 was a year without many improvements on the outside, but on the inside I'm pretty sure I became an adult an a more positive human in general. However this year I will be turning 26 and my body just isn't what it was, so time to get ahead of the game!

Brazilian Bum Lift [BBL]

This would change my life! It essentially liposuction and body shaping in one, moulding your body into what you want. They advise 50% of the fat should survive and stay in the new area, and sometimes more than one procedure is needed which is a pain because they're not cheap! They start from £2000 if you go abroad and £6000 in the UK and that is usually to have the fat removed from one area, from multiple areas it costs more. I remember when my bum used to be so pert and firm even when I weighed more, now it's looking dull and lifeless and I'm too young to develop pancake ass! The idea of travelling abroad for any type of surgery make me feel uneasy so I would have to have it done in the UK and therefor I ideally need to win some substantial money... but a gal can hope!

Colonic Hydrotherapy

Ok so I am for obvious reasons not going to post a related picture for this one! This has been something I've wanted to get done for a number of years after I'd been told by a friend how much better they felt afterwards. Right now my diet is pretty perfect for my colon but I dread to think about all the years of eating prior to this! Your small intestine alone is 23 feet long an in body clean out would feel so refreshing... I hope. The initial treatment session is £70 and then a little cheaper on any other sessions afterwards and this price is pretty much the same anywhere you go in the South East. I did look into the pros an cons it seems that it can make you feel a lot fresher, energised and lighter. However there were some reports of sickness and cramping during and afterwards. This being a much more affordable treatment means that I will most definitely be booking one... and of course a blog post will come afterwards!

Face Re-shaping With Botox
This procedure is designed for people with strong jaws [square shaped] and it relaxes the muscle to create a softer shape. Its quite a subtle change but I think it would make quite a big difference to my face without the need for anything surgical. The price for this is around £300 and I would imagine it would need re-doing every 1- 2 years. It works by injecting botox into the masseter muscle which can be felt at the bottom of your jaw towards the back when you clench your jaw/teeth. I don't think it would be at all painful which is a bonus, and hopefully this will be on the list of things to do this year!

I've decided there will be a PART 1 & PART 2 to this post because there's too much to post in one!

I'm Starting The Atkins Diet...

And this is why...

I would like to say I am starting this diet due to over-indulging over the festive period, but I would be lying as that was a mere 2 pounds! The real cause of my huge weight gain is being in a happy relationship for the first time in a long time! The sad fact is that feeling loved and comfortable in your own skin unfortunately causes you to completely forget any rules you had for keeping yourself in shape prior to said relationship. A takeaway was a weekly treat before when I would squeeze into my size 8 jeans, I'm embarrassed to say that some weeks I have eaten out up to 5 times! That combined with my alcohol consumption [which is possibly slightly less than before but still way over a heathy amount] and spending a lot more time indoors relaxing with my other half is ruining my figure and it must stop! Just 13 months into things and I have gained a massive 24 pounds... dangerously close to two stone!

SO, now you know my reasons for jumping into a diet as extreme as this one, I'll briefly explain the main rules of it.

This diet is HIGH FAT, HIGH PROTEIN and LOW CARB - low carb means very low, starting at just 20g of carbs per day.... it's not much at all when you consider one slice of bread has 14g of carbs! It is incredibly strict, alcohol isn't allowed [although it is worth considering if you must drink, dry white wine is your best option] some sweeteners are not allowed meaning sugar free drinks are out the window, as is chewing gum which isn't good when you find out that this diet causes bad breath! However if you want a diet which allows you to snack on most forms of meat, fish and full fat dairy products then this is perfect for you. A full list of items which are allowed for each stage of the diet can be found on the Atkins website, and if your not fussy then there is actually a wide variety of things to choose from. However if you are a little fussy like me then you'll probably find yourself eating the same things most days.....

- Bacon
- Sausages
- Cheeses [halloumi even!]
- Chicken, turkey, ham, lamb, beef, duck
- Mushrooms, Lettuce
- Full fat mayonnaise

It sounds exciting at first but after a week you'll probably be gagging for a slice of bread, or even fruit which is surprisingly full of carbs! However with some people reporting a 10lb weight loss in the first week then if you can stick with it, it is rewarding.

Yesterday was my first day on the diet, but as I did had a few glasses of prosecco I won't be including that!

WISH ME LUCK!
